First Blood Test to Diagnose Depression in Adults

Researchers at Northwestern have developed the first blood test to diagnose depression in adults. The researchers assert that the blood test can identify nine blood markers linked to depression, can help identify who will benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy based on changes in the markers over time, and will allow medical professionals to better individualize treatment to patients.
