When Choosing Goals:
1) Choose goals that are personally important to you.
2) Identifying goals that involve personal growth, human connection, or contribution to others can bring more meaning to your life and increase a sense of well-being.
Make your goals SMART:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Relevant
T - Time-specific
To increase your effectiveness, try the following:
1) enlist social support through a support group, friends, family, a coach/trainer, or therapist
2) plan ahead- schedule activities into your calendar, set an alarm, anticipate obstacles and plan around them
